On Wednesday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, jurors began their second day of deliberations in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. The jury deliberated all day Tuesday without reaching a decision, and they notified the court that they would return in the morning to complete their investigation.

In the August 2020 shootings in Kenosha that killed Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and injured Gaige Grosskreutz after a tumultuous night of protests following the police death of Jacob Blake, Rittenhouse faces five felony counts.

Rittenhouse, then 17 years old, maintains he was acting in self-defense. He stated that he traveled to Kenosha equipped with an AR-15 like weapon to assist with the protection of local businesses and to offer first aid. Last week, he testified in his own defense, breaking down in tears when his lawyers questioned him about why he fatally shot Rosenbaum.

Rittenhouse told the court, "I didn't do anything illegal; I was protecting myself".

The prosecution, on the other hand, has presented Rittenhouse as the aggressor and shown video from the event in an attempt to establish that he was the one who instigated the assault. Prosecutors have the burden of proof in this case to show that the shooting was not justifiable.

During the two weeks of testimony, the jury heard from over 30 witnesses.

After a group of 18 jurors was reduced down to 12, deliberations began Tuesday morning. Six pieces of paper from a lottery tumbler were chosen by Rittenhouse himself to designate the alternate jurors. A courtroom clerk, not the defendant, is normally in charge of this responsibility. Judge Bruce Schroeder stated that he has been requiring defendants to do so for "at least 20 years."

Jurors were chosen from a pool of seven women and five men, all of whom seemed to be white.

Opposing groups of demonstrators for and against a guilty conviction have gathered outside the Kenosha County courtroom, and 500 National Guard troops are on standby in anticipation of probable disturbance once a verdict is made.

What charges are already there?

Charge 1: For the death of Joseph Rosenbaum, first-degree reckless murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

Charge 2: Use of a hazardous weapon in the first degree recklessly endangering safety.

Charge 3: For the death of Anthony Huber, first-degree deliberate murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

Charge 4: For the shooting of Gaige Grosskreutz, attempted first-degree intentional murder with a dangerous weapon.

Charge 5: Use of a hazardous weapon in the first degree recklessly endangering safety.

NASA launches Lucy to space

A NASA spacecraft loaded with diamonds blasted into space on Saturday, on a 12-year mission to explore eight asteroids. Seven mysterious space objects are among swarms of asteroids orbiting Jupiter, which are believed to be original remnants of the planet's formation. The Atlas V rocket blasted off before dawn, carrying the Lucy spacecraft on a twisting orbital flight of nearly 6.3 billion kilometres. The craft is named after the 3.2 million-year-old skeletal remains of a human ancestor found in Ethiopia nearly half a century ago. The discovery got its name from the 1967 Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," which prompted NASA to send the spacecraft to fly along with the band members' song. The spacecraft also carried a lab-produced diamond disk for one of its science instruments. The paleoanthropologist behind the discovery of the "Lucy" fossil, Donald Johansson, said he was astonished by this intersection between our past, present and future. ...

Trump Israel lost control of Congress

"Trump" Israel lost control of Congress   Former US President Donald Trump considered the biggest change he saw in Congress was the transfer of power from Israeli-influenced lawmakers to anti-Israel politicians In statements to the "570 KVI" radio program, Trump said, "Israel took control of the Congress in the country 10 or 15 years ago, and its influence was very strong, but today it is almost the opposite. Trump has criticized Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and other members of the so-called "squad" of progressive Democratic lawmakers in the US Congress who have firm positions against pro-Israel policy. Trump added, "Well, you know the biggest change I've seen in Congress is that Israel literally owned Congress, you understand that 10-15 years ago, and [their influence] was very strong and today it's the opposite." Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar, and those people who hate Israel, they hate it passionately....

The US authorities confirmed the registration of the new AY.4.2 strain of Corona virus in the United States

The American authorities confirmed the registration of the new AY.4.2 strain of the Corona virus in the United States, adding that they had no information about the emergence of foci or the increase in the number of infected people. In a press briefing Wednesday, Rochelle Valinsky, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the center records "from time to time" the spread of this new strain, which was recently discovered in Britain, but she indicated that there is no data to indicate that this strain undermines the effectiveness of the vaccine or drugs used. And she confirmed that the main mutator circulating in the United States of the emerging Corona virus is the “delta” mutant, explaining that 99.7 percent of “Covid-19” patients are infected with it. Earlier, British scientists announced the spread of a new, more lethal version of the "Delta" mutant in the country, noting that AY.4.2 may become 10-15% more dangerous than the "Delta...
