A number of activists circulated on social networking sites "Facebook" publications indicating the death of Counselor Mortada Mansour, using a publication written on the page of former Egyptian Minister of Information Osama Heikal.
Immediately, Amal Fawzy, Osama Haikal's wife, posted a message on her page, in which she confirmed that Osama Haikal's page had been hacked and warned his followers not to receive any personal messages or from the public page.
In this context, Counselor Mortada Mansour thanked the fans of Zamalek Club and members of the General Assembly, for their calls to check on his health after the rumor of his death.
In statements to the local Egyptian media, he said, "Praise be to God, I am like an elephant and sit with my family."
At the same time, Ahmed Mortada Mansour made statements in which he confirmed that what was rumored about his father's death was not true.
And the Egyptian Administrative Court had recently issued a ruling to cancel the decision of the Minister of Sports to exclude Mortada Mansour from the presidency of the Zamalek club, and to exclude the previously elected board of directors.
Mortada Mansour had submitted an appeal against the decision of the Minister of Youth and Sports to suspend and exclude his council.
In his lawsuit, he demanded the cancellation of the decision of the Directorate of Youth and Sports No. 694 of November 29, 2020, which came in its first article to form a temporary committee to manage and run the business of the Zamalek Sports Club.
A member of the Zamalek club’s board of directors, Hani Zada, also filed a judicial appeal before the Administrative Court of the State Council, calling for the annulment of the decision to suspend and exclude the Zamalek club’s board of directors.
Mortada Mansour, 69, headed the Zamalek Club from April 2014 to November 2020, before his council was frozen by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to investigate financial irregularities.
The late Ahmed Bakri assumed the presidency of the club temporarily, before he was succeeded by Emad Abdel Aziz last December.
Hussein Labib has chaired the club's management committee since last May.
Judicial sources said that the ruling issued by the Administrative Court is considered a ruling of first degree, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports has the right to appeal the ruling in the Supreme Administrative Court within a maximum period of 60 days, and if the ministry does not appeal within that period, the ruling becomes final.
The sources added, "The Supreme Administrative Court is the highest judicial authority and has the right to overturn or uphold the administrative court ruling issued."
The Ministry of Youth issued a decision on November 29, 2020 to form a temporary committee to run Zamalek after the Mansour Council was dissolved on charges of financial and administrative violations.
The Ministry referred a report of violations to the Public Prosecution, which has not yet been decided upon.
